SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – YouTube was the most popular mobile app among South Korean smartphone holders in their teens and 20s, while those in their 40s and 50s used Naver and KakaoTalk the most, according to a new survey.

The survey conducted by Wise App and released on Tuesday revealed that among Android users, the video sharing service YouTube was found to be the most frequently used app, with the accumulated hours of use reaching 129 million.

Similarly, YouTube was the most popular app again among those in their 20s, with the accumulated hours of use down to around 80 million hours.

KakaoTalk was the most popular app among South Koreans in their 30s with Android phones.

KakaoTalk and Facebook were among the top three most popular apps for young South Korean Android users, following YouTube.

Android smartphone users in their 40s used web portal Naver’s mobile app the most, followed by YouTube and KakaoTalk, while the messaging app was most popular among those in their 50s, who have so far used the app for a total of 84 million hours.
