SEOUL, April 27 (Korea Bizwire) — About a half of foreigners have the intention to travel to South Korea within the next three years, a survey showed Tuesday.
The Korea Tourism Organization conducted a survey twice last year of about 30,000 foreigners over 15 years of age residing in 21 countries.
Among them, 19.4 percent said that they visited South Korea before, while 47 percent of the respondents said that they intended to travel to South Korea within the next three years.
Among those intending to travel to South Korea, 9 percent wanted to visit here earlier than any other country, while 44.1 percent expected their visit to be made within this year, 25.8 percent wanted to visit in 2024, and 24.1 percent wanted to visit next year.
By nationality, the Philippines showed the highest positive response at 80.4 percent, followed by Singapore at 72 percent, Vietnam at 70.1 percent and Indonesia at 69.1 percent.
As for the reason why they wanted to travel to South Korea, the largest number of respondents (15.1 percent) cited ‘lots of culture and experience activities to enjoy.’
