PAJU, South Korea, April 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Celebrating the upcoming Children’s Day, the Gyeonggi government is hosting a special event for families at the Imjingak Peace Park (Pyeonghwa-nuri) on May 5.
The highlight of the event is the display of 800 panda dolls made with recycled paper around the park, promoting environmental preservation and sustainable development. Dubbed the “Panda’s Round-the-world Trip Project,” the dolls were made in partnership with French artist Paulo Grangeon and the World Wildlife Fund.
The event begins at 10:30 a.m. with the 5th Paju Folk Festival. Two Alice in Wonderland-themed parades are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.; a Peter and the Wolf musical at 1:00 p.m.; and children’s musical “The Korean War 1950” at 2:00 p.m.
Other events, such as a Korean War clothing experience, making pinwheels and paper lanterns, and job experiences (police, firefighter, soldier, i.e.) for children, will also be arranged for visitors to partake in.
