SEOUL, Aug. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Starbucks Korea has launched a new program aimed at helping middle-aged small business owners who want to open or work at a café.
The company is now accepting applications for a program titled ‘Restart’, which is a professional education program specialized in teaching students how to open and run a café or work at a café.
The program is designed to encourage small business owners over 40 years of age to challenge themselves again.
Starbucks Korea, together with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, will provide a 16-hour educational course to about 100 middle-aged small business owners who will be taught about customer service and the latest trends and knowledge in the coffee industry.
Among exemplary trainees, those who want to develop a startup again will be offered support through a ministry-run re-startup package program.
The company will provide trainees who want to work at a café with the chance to work as baristas after going through the company’s hiring process.
