UIJEONGBU, March 26 (Korea Bizwire) — Ever since South Korea’s “Team Kim” became the darlings of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics with a surprise silver medal in women’s curling, the sport originating from Scotland has experienced a surge in local popularity.
Those wanting to try their hand at imitating their Olympic curling heroes, can head to Uijeongbu’s soon to open curling club, the largest in Asia.
The ice is equipped with six curling sheets according to international regulations, with seating for 243.
To maintain the ice, Uijeongbu has hired four world-class ice makers and implemented a carbon dioxide chilling method for the first time in South Korea.
The rink also has the distinction of being the only curling facility in the country to have a storage compartment for stones kept at the same temperature as the ice.
An opening ceremony for the venue is planned for March 29.

Hi,
How many curling rinks and curlers does Korea have? I heard a thousand curlers but not sure how many rinks. Cheers.
