BUSAN, Jan. 28 (Korea Bizwire) — Luxury hotels and department stores in the southeastern city of Busan are focusing on pet care services to overcome a financial crisis brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Grand Josun Busan announced Wednesday a hotel and vacation package for families with pets.
The package offers pet-friendly guest rooms with pet mats and slide staircases. Pet dishes and snacks, potty pads, potty bags, towels, and shampoo are also provided.
Last year, Paradise Hotel Busan held a special buffet for pets at the hotel’s outdoor gardens looking over Haeundae Beach.
Lotte Department Store is introducing a wider selection of vendors that sell pet-related goods at four outlets in Busan.
Despite the exorbitant prices of some pet-related products, with some priced over 1 million won (US$896), sales of pet-related goods have been on a steady rise.
A pet store at Lotte Department Store Busan saw a 36.4 percent jump in sales last year, as well as a 34 percent increase in the number of customers.
