IMSIL, Sept. 12 (Korea Bizwire) – The birthplace of South Korea’s first domestically produced cheese is undergoing a makeover.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Sangsung Village in Imsil County, North Jeolla Province was selected as the recipient of a three year, 600 million won investment that will begin next year.
In response, the county stated that the Sungguri Cheese (the original cheese brand) factory, schools, chapels, parishes, and the surrounding heron habitats would be specially decorated.
The announced plans will go hand in hand with a mural painting project and the renovation of the cheese factory that began last year in Sangsung Village.
