Prodigies Compete in Children’s Go Competition

SEOUL, July 28 (Korea Bizwire) – A total of 240 young prodigies of the strategic board game, Baduk, gathered at the 63 Building’s Grand Ballroom for the 16th World Youth Baduk Championship in Seoul. Players from nine different countries, including South Korea, China, and Japan, participated in the one-day tournament after competing in their respective regional preliminary rounds. 

Baduk, better known as Go, is a two-person game most popular in Northeast Asia. The game recently received worldwide attention with Google’s deep learning computer program AlphaGo challenging Korean Go master Lee Se-dol

Today’s event was organized by Hanwha Life Insurance, which vouched for its continuous support of young Baduk players in Korea.
