SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Korea Bizwire) – Shopping platform CJ OnStyle has forecasted that this year’s fashion trend will lean towards a ‘New Classic’ style, drawing inspiration from the minimalist approach of the 1990s.

As daily life resumes post-pandemic, individuals are expressing their pent-up individuality through fashion, previously manifesting in the ‘Y2K fashion’ trend with crop tops and short jackets.

However, the ongoing economic downturn is expected to continue influencing conservative spending habits, favoring timeless and understated fashion choices across all categories.

The 1990s saw a shift towards functional and practical minimalist fashion as a response to economic hardships, moving away from flamboyant and luxurious styles.

In line with this, CJ OnStyle anticipates that essential classic pieces such as trench coats, blazers, denim, and Oxford shirts, with slight variations in material, color, and details, will dominate the fashion landscape as ‘New Classic’ looks.

To embrace the upcoming spring season, CJ OnStyle is set to introduce collections from exclusive fashion brands like Celebshop Edition, Karl Lagerfeld, The Edge, and G-Studio. The ’24SS Fashion Showcase’ will run until February 25, offering a 10% discount coupon on spring arrivals that embody the ‘New Classic’ trend.

Customers can also view runway videos of the latest spring collections from major brands on the CJ OnStyle mobile app.

A CJ OnStyle representative stated, “This spring, we’ve prepared a wide range of new products that align with the ‘New Classic’ trend, featuring high-quality materials and sophisticated designs. With our unparalleled portfolio of fashion brands, we are poised to actively capture the spring fashion market and lead the trend for women in their 30s and 40s.”
