SEOUL, Jan. 18 (Korea Bizwire) — The growing number of delivery bikers prompted by stricter social distancing measures is leading to higher demand for delivery bags and other delivery necessities.
Gmarket, a major online shopping mall, reported a 168 percent increase in delivery bag sales between December and January.
Over the same period, sales of winter protection gear jumped by 63 percent, and rear bags by 27 percent.
Sales of protection gear for motorcycles also increased. Sales of motorcycle helmets jumped by 18 percent, and protection pads by 13 percent.
There are currently 120,000 delivery bikers affiliated with Baedal Minjok, the country’s largest food delivery app.
