Ulleung, April 19 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Fisheries Resources Agency (FIRA) has created the nation’s first marine reserve in the sea of Ulleungdo, which has improved the habitat environment of seaweed and created a visible ‘sea forest’ that can be experienced by the public.
To promote marine ecological culture, a commemorative event for the ‘Visible Sea Forest’ will be held at the Cheonbu Underwater Observatory in Ulleungdo, which was selected as the first marine protected area in the East Sea. The event aims to publicize the seriousness of the devastation of the sea ecosystem and the importance of creating a sea forest, and to make the sea forest more abundant together with the public.
