SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — An exhibition on the everyday life of Korean children is currently being held in the U.S.
From November 15, 2014, the exhibition ‘Heart and Seoul: Growing up in Korea’ has been open to the public at the Children’s Museum of Houston. The exhibition has been organized so that content containing the diverse everyday lives of Korean children, including Hangul (Korean writing), K-Pop and traditional culture can be seen and experienced.
‘Heart and Seoul’, which is the first-ever exhibition dealing with the everyday lives of Korean children to be held in the United States, has been supported by Hansol Education, the National Folk Museum of Korea, and Samsung, which sponsored the content and the required technology.
At the exhibition, Hansol Education has been introducing American children to the Korean language through “PopPopping Korean,” a Hangul education app for foreigners that was developed using 30 years of Hangul education knowhow.
A source at Hansol Education said, “The Children’s Museum of Houston is a children’s museum that is well-known in the United States. I hope that, through this exhibition, American children will have an interest in the creative and original system of Hangul, and that this will expand into a general curiosity about Korean culture.”
After being held at The Children’s Museum of Houston for 6 months until May, the exhibition will be convened in 8 cities in the United States, including New York and Baltimore.
The Korean education app “PopPopping Korean” can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store.
