SEOUL, Aug. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s top carmaker Hyundai Motor Co. is making another offensive in the Chinese auto market through high-end models and differentiated marketing to overcome a recent drop in sales.
The company has set up a 300-square-meter exhibition hall in a large mall on the Wangfujing shopping street in Beijing to engage with consumers. The street is also home to exhibition halls of other major automakers including Cadillac and BMW.
Hyundai’s exhibition hall is showcasing the company’s All New Palisade SUV, Nexo hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle and the i30 N TCR racing car.
On one side of the hall is a large screen displaying a promotional video that emphasizes Hyundai’s cutting-edge technology and various devices that demonstrate the operating system of a hydrogen-fueled vehicle.
By directly engaging with China’s wealthy consumers to sell high-end models, the carmaker is hoping to revamp its image.
