SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co. said Monday that it will roll out its Hyundai Selection mobility subscription service on the southern resort island of Jeju.
The South Korean automaker will first offer electric vehicle (EV) subscription services to cater to the region’s high demand for eco-friendly car rentals.
The company offers daily rental services for the IONIQ 5 all-electric model, full insurance coverage and an EV charging card. It will soon add monthly rental subscription plans.
A Hyundai Selection subscriber from another region visiting Jeju Island will be able to rent cars through the company’s ‘inter-regional subscription roaming’ services.
Customers subscribing to the mainland’s monthly subscription plan will be entitled to a 50 percent discount for short-term car rentals on Jeju.
Hyundai Selection made its official debut in April last year, and has attracted more than 13,000 subscribers. The subscription rate is being maintained at 97.1 percent, which is a lot higher than other car-sharing platforms.
