SEOUL, June 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Co.’s high-performance N brand had a triumphant weekend with wins at the ADAC Total 24 Hour Race and the opener of the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) held in the circuits of Nurburgring in Germany.
The South Korean carmaker entered the Elantra N TCR, i30 N TCR and i20 N in the 24-hour endurance race held on June 5 and 6 (local time).
Among them, the Elantra N TCR and i30 N TCR grabbed the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively, in the TCR class.
The i20 N participated in the SP 2T class and was able to complete the race. In the overall rankings, Hyundai’s entries were positioned at No. 32, No. 33 and No. 89, respectively.
A total of 121 cars participated in the race with, 99 or 81.8 percent of them successfully making it to the finish.
After grabbing a win in the TCR class in the first year when the Elantra N TCR participated in the endurance race, Hyundai succeeded in finishing the race for six straight years starting from 2016.
