JECHEON, Jan. 28 (Korea Bizwire) — Intrepid runners flocked to North Chuncheong Province on Sunday for Jecheon’s annual Winter Half Naked Marathon.
The Jecheon Athletics Association and Geumsusan Marathon Club jointly held the 12th Half Naked Marathon near Mosan-dong.
Despite the chilly weather, with the mercury measuring 3.2°C (37°F) at the start, more than 1,200 participants from around the country braved the cold temperatures with only their shorts on.
Female participants ran in tank tops and shorts.
Jecheon’s half naked marathon was held for the first time in three years, after it was suspended due to avian flu in 2017 and a fire at Jecheon Sports Center in 2018.
