SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Korea Bizwire) – Korea Exchange Bank (KEB) is launching 15,000 sets of Lunar New Year gift boxes composed of foreign currency bills. The gift sets will be sold on a limited basis, starting from February 4, and will only be available for purchase at KEB branches.
Korean elders have a custom of giving pocket money of various amounts to children in their family, wishing them luck on Lunar New Year day. KEB’s new gift set might add a pleasant twist to the traditional custom. The set includes newly printed bills from five countries: US $2 bills, Euro bills, renmibi bills, Canadian dollar bills and Australian dollar bills.
The prices of the gift sets will vary depending on the prevailing exchange rates at the time of purchase.
