SEOUL, Dec. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Friday it plans to showcase new gaming monitors with built-in artificial intelligence (AI) technology capable of upscaling contents to 5K resolution.

The LG UltraGear evo monitors will be introduced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January, the South Korean tech giant said in a release.

LG Electronics said the 27 and 39-inch versions of the new monitor come with an on-device AI solution that upscales all content displayed to 5K resolution, allowing users to enjoy higher-quality videos without upgrading their graphics processing units (GPUs).

The monitors can also automatically identify the genre of videos being played to provide optimized screen and video settings, the company added.

“The LG UltraGear evo, equipped with an on-device AI solution, will help the company solidify its leadership in the global premium gaming market,” LG Electronics said.
