SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Koreans are increasingly washing their hands after using the restrooms following the spread of the coronavirus.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) conducted a survey of 2,000 people who used public restrooms last year, 75.4 percent of whom said they usually wash their hands after using the restroom.
The proportion was higher than the 63.6 percent reported in the previous year.
It was the highest record since the survey was introduced in 2013.
However, 47.4 percent (948 people) of the respondents washed their hands without soap, surpassing those who used soap to wash their hands (28 percent, 560 people).
“The hands were most clean when people used soap to wash them for longer than 30 seconds,” the KDCA said.
