DAEJEON, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Recreational vehicles, known as ‘camping cars’ in Korea, are gaining popularity during the vacation season as they offer the practical combination of a means of transportation, accommodation and cooking/dining space.
As a result, patent applications related to camping are increasing rapidly.
Most of the applications are related to the structure and design of camping cars, particularly for features that make them more convenient and comfortable.
Camping cars are classified according to their structure, and they vary from interior modified camping cars to rooftop camping cars, motor caravans and truck campers, camping trailers and tent trailers.
Technology patent applications regarding camping trailers and rooftop camping cars have been increasing rapidly as of late.

Officials at the Korean Intellectual Property Office expect the increased patent applications regarding camping to continue, as traveling with a camping car is expected to become a popular activity.
