SEOUL, March 24 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean steelmaker POSCO is taking proactive measures to improve the food served at company cafeterias to promote the well-being of its employees.
Since January, the company’s steel plant in the southeastern city of Pohang has been holding a weekly event at the cafeteria in which it introduces a variety of popular restaurants from around the country.
Cafeteria dietitians are holding monthly seminars at the cafeteria to develop various dishes that can imitate the taste of food from across the country.
For night shifts, when employees are unable to leave their offices, the cafeterias are coming up with lunchboxes filled with the most popular cuisines.
“The food that’s being served at the cafeteria is an important way of measuring the welfare of the staff,” the company said.
