SEOUL, Aug. 17 (Korea Bizwire) – With an estimated 26,000 workers and volunteers involved in the Olympics and 390,000 guests visiting from all over the world, the lower half of the Korean peninsula has its hands full in preparing for this coming winter.
A joint statement released by Gangwon Province and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on August 16 carried a list of attractions and amusements that are being planned to figure in the 1.25 trillion won of consumer spending expected by the visiting population.
For a taste of South Korea, the ministry will install an area near the Olympic Games where regional delicacies from traditional open-air markets and traditional cultural activities will be on display side by side.
Those looking for more familiar meals will be able to take their pick among lines of food trucks from all over the country.
Tour buses and interpreters will be available on site for tourists in need of a ride and assistance.
Exchange students from abroad and young men and women from multicultural families will be selected to provide information as well.
