SEOUL, July 18 (Korea Bizwire) — While foreigners living in South Korea think highly of the country’s medical system, their satisfaction with living here is low.
The Expat Insider 2022, a report containing data from a survey of foreign residents conducted by international networking site InterNations, showed that Asia’s fourth-largest economy was the 40th country out of all 52 states that foreigners wanted to live in.
This represented an improvement from last year, when the country ranked 47th.
The survey respondents consisted of 11,970 people from 177 countries, who were asked about their standard of living, ease of settling in, working environment, personal finance and other basic factors.
While South Korea’s overall ranking was low, the country’s standard of living was ranked ninth.
Medical services, in particular, ranked second after Taiwan. Travel was also highly assessed, ranking fourth.
Ease of settling in, however, ranked 41st. Working environment ranked 31st and personal finance 35th.
The welcoming culture towards foreigners and language barriers ranked below 40th.
