SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — Nature Republic Co., a South Korean cosmetics firm, said Thursday that it has opened its first outlet in Indonesia, as it attempts to expand its presence in the Southeast Asian market.
The store, at a shopping mall in Jakarta, posted about 100 million won (US$94,000) in sales on its pre-opening day Wednesday, according to the company.
“We will expand our presence in the overseas market, including the Middle East and Europe in the long-run, with Indonesia as our outpost,” the company said in a press release. It plans to operate up to 10 outlets in the Southeast Asian country by the end of this year.
Nature Republic now has stores in 17 overseas countries, including China and Vietnam.
