SEOUL, July 11 (Korea Bizwire) – Send your pictures of Seoul’s morning to Seoul Metropolitan City Government’s official Instagram account and get free gifts like a music box, a lacquer tumbler, or a neck pillow featuring Seoul’s famous tourist attractions.

The city government has recently opened an account with Instagram (@seoul_official) to share photos with the citizens. It is currently interacting actively with the citizens through Twitter, Facebook, and KakaoStory.

The city government will share 230,000 photos of the city, including its history, culture, and daily life currently available on the Wow Seoul website (wow.seoul.go.kr), on Instagram so that 200 million people across the world can view and enjoy the pictures.

Instagram is an online mobile photo-sharing platform operated by Facebook. Users can take pictures and videos, apply digital filters to them, and share them on a variety of social networking services. To upload photos, users must download the mobile app on their smartphones.

For three weeks from July 10 to 30, anyone can enter the contest by sending his or her photos themed with “Seoul’s Morning” with a brief explanation to the city government’s official Instagram account. For example, scenes like people walking out of the subway in the morning, people enjoying a brunch in a restaurant in the city, and Seoul citizens working early in the morning are good for the purpose.

The government will select 100 photos and give away free gifts such as the music box with designs of North Village, the Han River-themed memo pad and bookmark, the neck pillow with designs of North Village, the lacquer yut game set, and the high-quality notepads. Selection will be announced on August 8 on the Wow Seoul website. Entry must be accompanied with name and contact information.
