SEOUL, July 2 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to introduce a new project later this year whereby coffee shops will offer customers multi-use cups for take-out orders.
The new project involves customers paying a small deposit at the store to take out drinks in a multi-use cup, which can be returned anytime at any participating store.
These multi-use cups will be made of thick, eco-friendly plastic that can be used multiple times.
The city expects that coffee shops specializing in take-out orders in Gwanghwamun, Euljiro, Gangnam, and other locations with a high concentration of office workers will be best suited for the test run of the project.
The project will only be rolled out at coffee shops that are willing to participate.
