SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Korea Biwire) – Pantech, the third largest mobile phone vendor in Korea, and currently under court receivership, released its Vega Iron2 and Vega Popup Note at surprisingly low prices.
On November 19, LG U+ lowered the price of the Vega Iron2 from 783,200 won to 352,000 won, for a discount of almost 50%. Earlier this week, KT also dropped its price for the handset to a similar level. The two mobile carriers will enter into discussions with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics in a bid to lower the prices of their smartphones.
Meanwhile, SK Telecom will sell Pantech’s Vega Popup Note for 352,000 won from November 21. The Vega Popup Note is a popup style smartphone with a digital pen which automatically pops out if a switch is pressed. With internal storage of 16GB, the Vega Popup Note features a Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 processor and a 5.6-inch full HD IPS display.
