Seoul City to Run Marine Sports Program on Han River

SEOUL, May 16 (Korea Bizwire)The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Monday it will launch a marine sports tryout program every weekend from June 3-Sept. 3.

The program will offer tryouts for sailboats, stand-up paddle boats, and kayaks.

Additionally, the city government will introduce the Black Cat Yacht program, which entails a scenic cruise along the Han River, stopping at Banpo, Sebit floating islands, Nodeul Island, and Yeouido.

Participants will have the opportunity to capture photos and savor snacks during the trip.

Certified instructors will provide participants with basic courses, theoretical knowledge, and practical training. Each sports program will accommodate 20 people and last for 80 minutes on the same day.

Priority will be given to low-income households, multicultural families, and isolated youths who face limited access to marine sports.

The entire program, including training and equipment, will cost 10,000 won (US$7.47).
