Seoul’s Bicycle Sharing Service Reaches 30 mln Users After 4 Years

SEOUL, Nov. 4 (Korea Bizwire)Ttareungi, public bicycles managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, have been used 30 million times 4 years after the service was launched.

There are currently 1.6 million Ttareungi members, which is 1 in 6 Seoulites.

Roughly hald of the average bicycle usage each day is concentrated on rush hour commutes from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Foreigners were also found to have used bicycles around 118 times per day. For each use, they rode for 72.6 minutes, which is 2.7 times longer than South Korean riders (27.3 minutes).
