Starbucks’ Limited Edition Coin Pouch Sells Out in Five Days

SEOUL, Jan. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – A series of 50,000 special edition “coin pouches” that Starbucks Korea introduced to celebrate the New Year sold out in just five days, the company announced Sunday.

The artificial leather pouch, which came in two colors – gold and silver – with the Starbucks’ logo on it, was specially crafted to fit six of the coffee maker’s coin chocolates. 

According to Starbucks, pictures of the coin pouches used for other purposes, like carrying earphones or real coins, went viral on SNS, which led to their sudden popularity, and an immediate sell-out of the products. 

“We’ll continue to introduce new, practical merchandise for our customers,” said an official.
