SEOUL, May 3 (Korea Bizwire) — An increasing number of people are looking for suits for work and cameras for outdoor picnics ever since the social distancing measures were lifted last month.
Kolon Industries Inc., South Korea’s top textile and chemical materials maker, reported a 64 percent increase in sales of shoulder bags, normally used for casual outings, since April.
As an increasing number of people are returning to their workplaces, Kolon Industries’ male fashion brand Brentwood’s casual jacket and suit sales have jumped by more than 150 percent since last year.
Home appliances are also going through a trend shift. With the increasing number of people going out for picnics, overseas travel and other outdoor activities, Lotte Department Store saw sales of cameras and home appliances more than double since last month.
E-Mart Inc. saw sales of health supplements jump by 13.3 percent between April 18 and 28, compared to the same period last year, led largely by rising demand for personal health following the end of social distancing.
