SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — The second kimchi-themed cook-off was held at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Copia, a so-called “food lover’s paradise” in California’s Napa Valley, a famous wine-producing region.
Carlota Bradley won the first prize with her creative culinary art called Jonggkim Rice Stack, a dish made with kimchi and fried rice, decorated with gold leaf.
“I would like to open a restaurant and promote kimchi to many people. Kimchi — as it sounds per se — originates from Korea, but this uniquely Korean food is mistaken as Chinese,” said Ms. Bradley.
“I want to give everyone a chance to savor the taste and flavor of kimchi,” added the winner.
This kimchi-themed cooking contest is held annually in the U.S., France and Britain and co-hosted by Daesang Corp., a Korean food processing company and SFAd, an advertising agency.
