SEOUL, June 8 (Korea Bizwire) — An exhibition showcasing Saudi Arabia’s lucrative Neom smart city project will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on Wednesday that the Seoul Neom exhibition will take place from July 26 to August 3.
Neom is Saudi Arabia’s US$500 billion project to build an automated, sustainable city, operated by robots and powered by solar energy, in the kingdom’s northwest province of Tabuk.
It consists of a linear city known as The Line, which connects buildings with a width of 200 meters and a height of 500 meters. It spans a distance of 170 kilometers.
In addition, there is an IT industrial complex in the shape of an octagon called Oxagon, floating on the surface of the sea. Furthermore, there is a mountain tourism complex known as Trojena.
The exhibition will utilize 100 percent green energy and primarily focus on The Line concept. An underground high-speed train will connect the entire city within 20 minutes.
This exhibition will provide a comprehensive view of various sculptures and videos showcasing Saudi Arabia’s new cities.
The exhibition came to fruition after Land and Transport Minister Won Hee-ryong visited Riyadh in November last year.
During his visit to the Neom construction sites and exhibition venues, he proposed hosting the exhibition in Seoul.
