SEOUL, Sept. 26 (Korea Bizwire) Samsung Electronics climbed to 6th while Hyundai Motor Company stayed in 35th place for the second straight year in global brand consultancy Interbrand’s “Best Global Brands 2017” list.

Over the last six years, Samsung has steadily climbed the Top 100 ranks, starting at 17th in 2011 and staying at 7th through 2015 and 2016 before this year’s result.

Despite the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 disaster, in which certain customers reported their smartphone batteries catching on fire, Interbrand gave the South Korean electronics giant high marks for a quick recovery, crediting its openness with customers as a reason for its success.

Top of the line products like “The Frame” TV and the Family Hub Refrigerator were also seen as positives that factored into Interbrand’s ranking decision.
