BORYEONG, June 30 (Korea Bizwire) — This year’s Boryeong Mud Festival, one of South Korea’s most celebrated summer events, is scheduled to be held from July 21 to August 6, which is a week longer than in previous years, organizers said Thursday.
The organizing committee under the municipal government has increased the number of festivities from 40 to 60 programs and expanded the scale of the 26th annual mud extravaganza on Daecheon Beach in the central city of Boryeong.
The festival will feature large mud pools and slides at the mud experience zone, along with the introduction of mud chairs and other rides for the first time this year.
Various tryout programs, such as mud self-massage, mud beauty care, and color mud painting, will also be available.
In addition, the festival will host the Mud Challenge, an exclusive obstacle course competition of the mud festival, as well as an air show by the Air Force’s Black Eagles aerobatic team.
