SEOUL, Oct. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — The industry ministry on Tuesday kicked off the annual Korea Electronics Show (KES), where businesses will showcase their visions for a sustainable future through the use of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The KES 2024 will run for four days at the COEX convention center in southern Seoul, inviting 520 companies from 13 countries, including the United States, Japan, Germany and China, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
During the event, participants plan to showcase the latest AI technologies applied across various industries, ranging from mobility to robotics, along with environmental, social and governance initiatives.
“Despite uncertainties in the global market, the country’s electronics and IT companies have been making headway in various sectors, from smartphones to TVs,” Vice Industry Minister Park Sung-taek said in a statement.
“The government will also proactively work to position South Korea as a leading player in the global electronics and IT sectors and achieve record exports this year,” he added.
Park noted that the government will make efforts to remove unnecessary regulations that may hinder the release of innovative products as well.
