SEOUL, Sept. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — The government plans to open up 1,201 uninhabited islands designated as ‘usable’ for fishing and camping with pets.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to legislate a newly revised law that lifts restrictions on uninhabited islands to allow public use such as fishing, exempting them from the list of restricted practices such as capturing or extracting wild animals and plants.
The amendment also allows cooking, camping, and bringing livestock and wild animals to uninhabited islands.
The new law will allow property owners at uninhabited islands to raise cows, sheep and other livestock. Travelers will also be able to bring pets and camp on these islands.
