JEONJU, Oct. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – On the afternoon of Saturday, October 7, a massive bowl of bibimbap graced the special stage at the Jeonju Sports Complex Stadium in North Jeolla Province, capturing the attention of both citizens and tourists.
This huge bowl of bibimbap served as a symbolic representation of the 2023 Jeonju Bibimbap Festival, which commenced on the same day, showcasing the city’s diverse array of dishes and culture.
Gathered around the bowl filled with bibimbap ingredients were Woo Beom-gi, the mayor of Jeonju, along with several members of the city council, all wielding rice paddles in their hands.
They fervently stirred the bibimbap, symbolically expressing their hopes for the city’s culinary culture’s growth and the successful execution of the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival.
The completed bibimbap was shared with the hundreds of citizens and tourists who had gathered at the event venue. Reusable containers were utilized, aligning with the festival’s eco-conscious ethos.
The bibimbap ‘performance’ will run daily until the festival’s conclusion on Monday.
Citizens and tourists who pre-register through the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival website can partake in the performance.
