SEOUL, Aug. 22 (Korea Bizwire) –The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) announced on August 21 that it will be running a “Korea Trail 4,500 km National Circuit Campaign” until November 30.
This initiative marks the completion of the country’s ambitious project to create a continuous trail around the entire peninsula.
The campaign celebrates the opening of the final section, the DMZ Peace Trail, which follows earlier completions of the Haeparang Trail in 2016, the Namparang Trail in 2020, and the Seohaerang Trail in 2022.
To kick off the event, the KTO is hosting a launch campaign until August 25. Participants can enter by downloading the Korea Trail’s dedicated app, Durunubi, logging in, and clicking the participate button on the campaign page. Five hundred winners will be randomly selected to receive Starbucks gift certificates.
The main campaign runs from August 26 to November 30. During this period, hikers who complete at least one course of the Korea Trail, verify it through the Durunubi app, and respond to a satisfaction survey will receive a special mobile authentication badge commemorating their journey. The first 5,000 participants will also be awarded mobile gift certificates.
In collaboration with approximately 30 local governments, including Busan, Goseong, and Suncheon, the KTO plans to organize Korea Trail walking festivals in September and October, featuring various hiking programs.
