SEOUL, March 29 (Korea Bizwire) – The Korean government has announced plans to develop original technology to realize law or tax consultations and even simultaneous interpretation through artificial intelligence (AI).
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning announced 34 tasks it hopes to accomplish through its new ‘Creative Vitamin Project’.
The Creative Vitamin Project applies science and information technology (IT) to different fields to resolve issues and revitalize industries.
Health and medical treatment, finance and small businesses, education and learning, transportation, and safety are the 10 fields that were selected for inclusion in the Creative Vitamin Project.
‘Health Tech’ services that offer lifestyle improvements for those suffering from poor health, and pilot projects for remote medical practices will be conducted.
A testbed to develop new fintech services will be established, and services that will allow taxes to be paid through mobile applications are also expected to be developed.
Cutting-edge services using AI will also be developed. Through language intelligence technology that allows computers to understand the context of questions, services that provide consultation on legal matters, farming or taxes will be provided.
Ministry officials do explain that the consultations will be offered at a level in which the computer can understand the purpose of the question and provide related information.
Through deep learning technology, computers can learn how to help diagnose lung diseases after ‘studying’ information in numerous medical video clips and data.
Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology will be featured in exhibitions and tourism campaigns. In addition, IoT based emergency management services and real-time translation services are expected to be developed.
