JEONJU, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – Chonbuk National University announced on Wednesday it is building a new traditional Korean building, which will accommodate a training center as well as serve as an entrance to the university campus.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the 7 billion won construction project took place on Wednesday, with the university pledging to build what school administrators are calling the ‘most traditionally Korean looking’ campus.
According to the blueprint of the new project, the architecture will have a traditional Korean roof made of roofing tiles, giving it a traditional touch, with two new buildings to accommodate a training center.
The newly unveiled project is part of Chonbuk National University’s efforts to create a new landmark that represents the university’s campus.
Since last year, Chonbuk National University has been accelerating traditional Korean building construction projects with the help of the government to create an international brand of the ‘most traditionally Korean campus’.
