Gallery Named After Korean-American Opening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

SEOUL, Sept. 10 (Korea Bizwire)The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will open up its first exhibition hall named after a Korean-American.

Seoul-based private equity fund MBK Partners Ltd. announced that one of the exhibition halls in the Modern Wing, named after Oscar Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang, will be named after its chairman Michael ByungJu Kim and his wife.

Kim donated US$10 million for the renovation of the Modern Wing.

In recognition of the donation, the Met will name one of the exhibition halls in the Modern Wing the Michael B. Kim and Kyung Ah Park Gallery.

In 2017, Kim was the first Korean to be elected to the board of the museum.
