SEOUL, April 12 (Korea Bizwire) – Shinsegae Department Store President Jang Jai-yeong was paid the most among South Korea’s retail industry CEOs last year, industry data showed Thursday.
Jang received 1.59 billion won (US$1.49 million), with the total breaking down to 929 million won in salary and 669 million won in bonuses.
Lee Gap-su, president of Emart Inc., which is run by retail giant Shinsegae Co., came in second with 1.37 billion won.
Next came Park Dong-woon, president of Hyundai Department Store, at 961 million won, followed by Kang Hee-tae, president of Lotte Department Store, at 939 million won.
Kim Jong-in, the head of Lotte Mart, received about 700 million won.
Lotte Group Vice Chairman Lee Won-joon, who is in charge of the group’s retail businesses, meanwhile, got 1.12 billion won, and Lee Dong-ho, vice chairman of the Hyundai Department Group, received 1.15 billion won.
