SEOUL, South Korea, Oct 01 (Korea Bizwire) – So many people these days exercise to keep themselves fit and healthy. But when it comes to preventing tooth decay and other dental problems, there’s still a long way to go. Sensodyne, the global toothpaste brand for people with sensitive teeth, recently commissioned a questionnaire to Dooit Survey on tooth brushing habits of people and found that as many as 39.9 percent of respondents said they don’t brush teeth after having a lunch meal.
By occupation, students and housewives had a higher percentage of negative answers to the question with 46.1 and 46.7 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, 29.0 percent of office workers said they don’t brush after lunch.
As to reasons for not brushing, 34.5 percent said, “I don’t bother” while 21.3 percent said it is not easy to take a toothbrush with them. Instead of tooth brushing, 23.3 percent said they chew gums, while 22.2 percent answered that they use mouthwash instead. As many of 5.9 percent of male respondents said they smoke instead of brushing!
Given bad breath is one of the most intolerable body odors along with sweat smell and foot odor, the current brushing habit may be a potentially serious problem for people working and mingling together.
