SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – Epson Korea has announced the launch of a golf swing analysis system dubbed “Epson M-Tracer for Golf MT500GII”. The device uses two accelerometers to analyze golf swings, and displays the results on compatible smartphones.
Attached to the handle of a golf club, the MT500GII measures swing data including the orbit, face angle at the time of impact, head speed, rotation of the shaft and swing frequency, and transmits the information to a smartphone application (Epson M-Tracer Golf) via Bluetooth.
In addition, on December 5th Epson Korea will launch a beta version of “M-Tracer View for Golf,” a web service enabling users to save swing data to a cloud server. The accumulated data of up to 2,000 swings is expected to help provide a more in-depth analysis.
Equipped with a lithium polymer rechargeable battery, the device can be used continuously for about four hours, with a two-hour recharge time. The MT500GII measures 50 x 25 x 15.5mm and tips the scales at 15g, with an expected launch price of around 400,000 won.
