SEOUL, March 2 (Korea Bizwire) — Universities are witnessing a wide range of ideas for online matriculation ceremonies as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rage on.
Soonchunhyang University held a virtual matriculation ceremony on Tuesday where students were able to participate as avatars.
The school created a virtual space designed after the campus’s main sports field, and gave out avatars to incoming freshmen.
Each student received an avatar by downloading an app sent from the university. Students could change the hair design, skin color, clothes and accessories of their avatars.
Following the ceremony, freshmen spoke to one another via online chats and met with their seniors.
