SEOUL, May 31 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Institute for Lifelong Education said Tuesday it has opened Playground for All, a facility designed for people of all ages to enjoy sports and games together.
This playground was established through a partnership agreement among the institute, Nike Korea, and ChildFund Korea. The goal is to promote children’s right to play and provide convenience for Seoul citizens.
The facility was created by renovating the existing playground at Modu School in Geumcheon District. Notably, it is the first playground in the country established as part of Nike Korea’s Move to Zero environmental campaign.
Covering an area of 1,613 square meters, the playground was built as a customized facility on the existing trapezoid-shaped site.
The futsal field and basketball court, each equipped with three goalposts, were designed beyond formal specifications.
They aim to respect the diverse physical capabilities of individuals, ensuring that everyone can enjoy these spaces.
Additionally, the playground features a badminton court and a running track, both of which were based on ideas presented by local residents.
The institute plans to offer a variety of physical activity programs tailored to different stages of life at this new playground.
