SEOUL, Jan.25 (Korea Bizwire) – Galleria Duty Free 63, a new duty-free store located in Seoul’s Yeouido financial district, will participate in the creation of video content as a marketing means to attract Chinese customers.
Store representatives announced that they invited 20 Chinese ‘power creators’ to the store, individuals who create content related to shopping, fashion, and/or traveling, and share their work through postings on their SNS accounts. The 20 power creators who were invited to the event have over 10 million followers.
The 20 guests visited shops inside the duty-free store as well as 63 Art, an art space and observation area offering breathtaking views of Seoul, and Baek Ni Hyang, a premium Chinese restaurant.
The real-time videos of the Galleria duty-free store that four of the power bloggers shared on their SNS accounts have already been viewed more than one million times.
Galleria Duty Free 63 also started a promotion in which small gifts are offered to Chinese customers who comment on the SNS content.
Galleria is holding the event as part of its multi-channel network (MCN) efforts that will drive a new online marketing strategy. The corporation supports content creators who develop content related to their franchise, and in turn receive a share of the profits generated.
Hanwha Galleria officials comment that the business is more than just simple viral marketing strategies through power bloggers. Through video footage generated by the power creators that shows the actual site, the company hopes to improve its brand awareness in China.
