ASAN, Dec. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — With the growing popularity of physiotherapy for pets, students from a local college have jumped into acquiring relevant certifications.
More than two dozen students from Sun Moon University’s Department of Physical Therapy recently acquired certifications for pet massage, pet stretching, animal anatomy and physiology.
Animal physiotherapy involves correcting posture, as well as treatment for muscular fiber disorder caused by chronic stress and overuse through proper massage.
It requires students to learn about the animal’s basic anatomy and physiology and train with animal replicas before they can begin treating real animals.
Students have completed various training courses including lectures from the Korea Association of Animal Physical Therapy.
