OKCHEON, Sept. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — Seniors living in remote regions are expecting to spend a lonely Chuseok holiday this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In response, the Welfare Center for the Disabled and Seniors in Okcheon County, North Chungcheong Province, selected five senior households to help send video messages to their loved ones.
They have to spend Chuseok holiday without their families due to the government’s nationwide recommendation to stay home during the holidays.
The seniors have already asked their families to stay home and skip family reunions this year.
The center completed the video clips and will send them out on Friday.
In the videos, seniors were more concerned about their children’s health than having to stay alone during the holidays.
Some teared up during the videos asking their children not to come home this Chuseok.
